SNIA SMB3 Interoperability Lab EMEA

The SMB3 IO Lab, hosted by SNIA and sponsored by Microsoft, takes place on April 21–23, right after sambaXP. It offers a dedicated space for hands-on interoperability testing, exploring new SMB features, and collaborating with the Windows Protocol team. To participate, select the option during ticket purchase—your contact details will be shared with SNIA for separate registration. This is a unique chance to engage with experts, test your implementation, and network with professionals from around the world. For more information, please visit the SNIA event website.

Göttingen

The sambaXP is traditionally held in Göttingen, a charming town in southern Lower Saxony.

If you arrive early, we recommend taking some time to explore the historic and picturesque city center, which is easily walkable and well connected by bus. Here are a few hightlights from the offical tourism office.

Göttingen is directly accessible by Intercity Express (ICE) from Frankfurt (Main) Airport. You can check schedules and book your connection on the German Railway(Deutsche Bahn).

By public transport

From Göttingen Central Station:
Take bus 120 (towards Hann. Münden Bahnhof) or bus 61 (towards Hetjershausen) to Göttingen Dransfelder Straße. The conference hotel is located directly opposite.

By car

The Hotel Freizeit In has its own parking garage. Please report directly to the reception desk upon arrival.

Catering & Networking

The culinary program for sambaXP is taken care of:

  • a light start to the day with appetizers,
  • coffee breaks with delicacies from the pastry shop and savory snacks,
  • a varied lunch buffet,
  • and drinks throughout the day.

This will allow you to recharge your batteries for lectures and discussions—and give you plenty of opportunity for networking during the breaks.

Social dinner

On the evening of the first day of the conference, we invite all participants, sponsors, and speakers to a joint dinner. In addition to a relaxed end to the day, the focus here is on exchange: professional discussions, insights from the community, and new ideas are particularly easy to share over good food. The diner will take place at the conference hotel. The free registration can be made during the purchase process.
