The 23rd international conference around the OpenSource software Samba will take place on April 17 & 18, 2024 as an online event.

Here you will find all relevant information about sambaXP 2024 (and further information especially for speakers) as well as the accompanying webinars that will take place on April 16, 2024.

How do I get the Zoom access data for the conference?

Please use the following links for the corresponding tracks:

Which (technical) equipment is needed?

As participant you just need a computer, laptop, tablet or a smartphone with speakers. A webcam is not needed.

As a speaker you need a computer, laptop, tablet or a smartphone with speakers and a webcam. And we recommend to download the Zoom client for an easier handling during your presentation.

How to participate?

Please follow the link for the conference (see "How do I get the Zoom access data?" above).

At the beginning of the conference you have to open the link in your browser or paste the Meeting-ID into the downloaded Zoom client (download here).

Are there other opportunities to interact with other participants?

A short discussion is possible after each talk.

Furthermore, there will be a panel discussion at the end of the conference in which current samba projects and further plans will be discussed - Please have a look at the agenda.

Will the conference be recorded?

Yes, the conference will be recorded and published on YouTube afterwards.

Please note that your voice will also be recorded if you ask a question or participate in a discussion via audio.

First, all speakers will have access to the recordings via a direct link and may contact us within a couple of days if there should be something censored or deleted for GDPR reasons. After this process we will publish the content.

Of course all participants and speakers have the right to ask us for removal of parts or their talk in total at any time even after publishing.

I'm a speaker - What else is there to consider?

To ensure a smooth conference please consider the following:

  • The listed times in the agenda according CEST
  • Each lecture is scheduled to at most 45 minutes (including discussion!)
  • Please register at Zoom, about 15 minutes before your talk begins (please pay attention to the correct track).
  • In case of problems try to solve them with your session host inside the Zoom session. If there are other problems (e.g. login data) please write an E-mail to loc@remove-this.sambaxp.org.
